balloon care and warnings

How to look after your balloons

To keep your balloons looking their best follow the steps bellow.

  • Keep balloons away from direct sunlight and warm places (i.e. next to radiators). Helium expands in warm conditions and can burst if left in front of windows, in cars, in conservatories or near radiators and other heat sources.
  • Avoid cool and low temperatures as this will have the opposite effect on your helium balloon and cause it to shrink, affecting float time and appearance. Helium balloons prefer consistent room temperatures.
  • Open windows, fans and drafts can cause your balloon to be blown into objects causing them to burst.
  • Your balloon may look good enough to touch, but please handle them with extreme care. Balloons can attract finger prints which will detract from their appearance. Balloons are not built to be played with so it's best to keep little hands away if you want a long lasting balloon.
  • If you get caught in some rain with your helium balloon, it will stop flying. DON'T PANIC, gently dry your balloon with a towel or tissue and leave it to reach room temperature, your balloon will soon be back to its best.

We pride ourselves on our quality long lasting products but unfortunately they will only last for a certain amount of time, follow our care guide to get the most out of your balloons.

Float times

Latex balloons: Helium filled latex balloons generally last up to 12 hours in ideal conditions. Certain factors will reduce this time, like confetti as it adds weight to the balloon making the helium work harder. Hi-Float balloon preserver can make latex balloon last up to 25x longer (not suitable for confetti balloons).

Foil Balloons: Foil balloons have an average float time of 2-3 weeks, but can last much longer if kept in ideal conditions.

Air filled displays: Air filled displays don't float but they will still go down overtime. Air filled latex balloons will last up to 4 weeks and air filled foil balloons can last much longer if you follow our care guide.
